A Solar Variable Speed Limit Sign is an advanced traffic control device that uses ultra-bright LED technology to display speed limits in a highly visible and animated format. It is designed to influence driver behavior and improve safety in areas where vehicles and pedestrians are in close proximity, such as school zones, construction sites, and residential areas.
The sign features a full dot matrix display that can be remotely controlled to change the posted speed limit between 01 and 99 km/h. It also includes animated red rings around the speed limit for added emphasis. The system operates day and night with auto-dimming technology to maintain consistent brightness and conserve battery life
This sign is built with a vandal-resistant polycarbonate screen and a powder-coated, lockable enclosure for durability. It uses an 80W solar panel and a 60Ah lithium-ion battery, providing up to 96 hours of autonomy. The LED display measures 460 x 460 mm and includes 190 SMD LEDs for maximum visibility. It is IP65 waterproof and IK10 impact resistant, ensuring reliable performance in all conditions.
By providing a clear, animated display of the speed limit, the sign effectively enforces speed awareness and reduces traffic speed in high-risk areas. We live in a gated lifestyle resort of 375 residents, we have narrow roadways and no foot paths so it’s a shared pedestrian/vehicle environment.
